Cotech was established as a Limited Company in 1979, by the two current shareholders, Daniel Llovet and Ken Wilson, both of who have an equal shareholding in the organisation. In 2004 Cotech celebrate 25 years of trading.

Cotech was one of the earliest Companies to locate to the Tafarnaubach Industrial Estate at Tredegar in South Wales, U.K. and not only went on to purchase the original premises of 3000 sq. ft. but also to buy adjoining premises totalling 15,000 sq. ft. In the year 2000 an extension of a further 8,000 sq. ft. was added to accommodate higher stocks, and offices.

We manufacture a variety of coated films, which are distributed into two markets:
Lighting Filters into the Film, TV and Entertainment Lighting Industries and Inkjet Printable Films For Exhibition Graphic Display Systems.

The manufacturing techniques for both industries are similar using state of the art coating equipment.

Cotech are constantly looking at new ways of producing products in a more environmentally friendly way and are one of the few manufacturing companies to regulate it's emissions. Emissions produced by our production process is linked to an efficient environmental control unit which oxidises these emissions into clean-air.

Quality control is imperative to our overall production. Each new batch is put through a series of tests after a few metres are produced before the coating run can continue. Lighting filters are checked for colour density and consistency of colour against a control sample using a spectrophotometer, Cotech having the most up to date equipment available.

Inkjet Printable materials have a test image printed to compare ink drying, ink adhesion and colour contrast.

Conversion into rolls and sheets is carried out on the premises using a variety of equipment.

Extensive stocks are held through our product ranges ready for immediate despatch to our customers via parcel carriers and shipping agents.

We offer probably the largest range of lighting filters within today's global market, all our filters are surface coated for excellent clarity and consistency from batch to batch, so whether you are looking for a regular lighting filter or high temperature lighting filter we have a wide choice of colours to chose from. We even have a range of specifically designed uv fade resistant filters for colouring fluorescent tubes, allowing confidence in colouring tubes over an extended period of time.

Cotech's export markets continue to grow; currently selling to around 42 countries around the world, handled by our export department.
